Marinspection Changes if primary focus.

Marinspection is changing. Due to the recent downturn in the lending institutions and higher borrower requirements Marinspection will no longer be offering home inspections in connection with real estate transactions. Our focus is now on assisting our clients with their goals of conserving resources. Energy conservation is now our focus.

We will continue to offer loan, phase, draw, photo and warranty inspection services to our current clients.

Our energy inspections are the finest in the country and afford you, the homeowner, a better understanding of your energy usage and what steps you can take to reduce your energy costs. We assist in putting you in contact with local contractors that can assist you in reducing your costs and improving you comfort level. We are all interested in saving money. Sometimes the best way to accomplish that is by calling a professional in to assist you. We are professionals who understand energy and home construction.

Some of the questions we are asked:

Q: Do you use a blower door?

A: No. we do not. With over 10 years experience we know where 90 percent of air leaks come from. We also are trying to save you money. A blower door test is an extra charge.

Q: Do you do the repairs?

A: No. we do not provide repair services. “Why?”, you may ask. We feel that by not providing these services the report we give you is completely unbiased. We’re not out to find things to fix so we can charge you more. We do provide you with a list of contractors and repair professionals that we have worked with and feel comfortable in recommending.

Q: PG&E offers a free online energy inspection program. Why should I pay you to come out if I can do it myself?

A: There’s also online health advice. Does that mean you are then qualified to do surgery on yourself? Of course not. You call or go and see a professional that has been trained to know exactly what you need. The same holds true for understanding energy use, loss and savings. Do you really think a company that sells you something is actually going to tell you have to use less of their product?
